Grapevine 'Fantasy Seedless'

Vitis vinifera L. ‘Fantasy Seedless’

Fantasy Seedless is early and it makes an impression: large blue-black seedless berries with a thin skin and crisp light-green flesh that put it among the best-eating grapes in its class. It comes in early in the season, when the market pays best. The vine is vigorous but sets nothing on its basal buds, so it wants cane pruning — prune it short and it will disappoint you. The thin skin also means watching the water: rain or heavy irrigation close to harvest splits the berries. An American variety from USDA in California; VIVC no. 16016.
